A contemporary café within a heritage setting.

Currently under construction, Eddies has been thoughtfully designed to feel as though it has always belonged. Set within a heritage-listed building, the project balances relaxed Australian living with a refined, contemporary sensibility, embracing the character of the existing architecture while introducing carefully considered new layers.

Working within the constraints of the heritage fabric required a restrained design approach. With many original architectural elements unable to be altered, the focus shifted to creating atmosphere through the thoughtful layering of natural materials, bespoke joinery, curated artwork, planting, lighting and finely considered details.

With the building itself largely untouched, the design is expressed through layers rather than alterations. Natural materials, bespoke joinery, curated artwork, lighting and planting come together to create depth, warmth and personality, allowing the café to feel both contemporary and deeply connected to its heritage setting.

When complete, Eddies will offer a warm and welcoming neighbourhood destination – a café designed not only to be enjoyed, but remembered.
